Compass Creative Dramatics – Summer Theatre Week

Compass Creative Dramatics

A week of Summer Music, Drama & Fun

2017 Dates

July 24 – 29 in Galax

Compass Creative Dramatics is a week-long residency open to all children in the Twin Counties.  Actors from the CCD will audition & cast up to 70 children (ages 5-18 only) for roles in ALICE’S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND.   During the week, the children rehearse the play, learning their lines, music and choreography. On Saturday, July 29th, they perform play for their family and friends!

The audition for ALICE’S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND will be held on Monday, July 24th at 10:00am at the Rex Theatre in Galax.  Students wishing to audition must arrive by the scheduled starting time and stay for the entire two-hour session. The first rehearsal begins approximately 15-30 minutes after the audition. This is a group audition – no advance  preparation is necessary, but a smile never hurts. Students should just be ready to come and have a good time!

The cost for the week-long theatre experience is $25/student.  If a family has multiple students participating, the cost is $15/student.  Each student will receive 2 free tickets to the Saturday, July 29th performance to share with family and friends.

Rehearsals will be conducted every day from approximately 10am to 2:30pm at the Rex Theatre. Although not all cast members will be needed at every session, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire week and if selected, be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed at the conclusion of the audition.

**  Students should bring bottled water and a lunch or substantial snack with them.

** Please have your student wear closed toe shoes at the audition and rehearsals.

Please share this amazing opportunity with everyone you know!
