Wandflower Theatre, a young adult theatre project sponsored by The Arts Council of the Twin Counties, announces auditions for “Peter/Wendy” by Jeremy Bloom. This high-energy, fast-paced adaptation of J.M. Barrie’s “Peter and Wendy” and “The Little White Bird” calls for 7 or more actors (male or female) who have a sense of adventure and a willingness to stretch the bounds of imagination. Wandflower Theatre is looking for young adults ages 15 – 30 to take on this classic fantasy yarn about a boy who never grows up and a girl he lures away from her nursery to the magical world of Neverland. This lyrical, atmospheric interpretation of “Peter Pan” is an exploration of innocence, friendship, family and loss.
Auditions will be on Saturday, April 10th from 3pm to 5pm and Sunday, April 11th from 6pm to 8pm at the Arts Council offices, located at 608 West Stuart Drive in Galax. Please wear a mask to the audition. Director Stephannie Dees will have scenes from the script to read from at the auditions. Performances of “Peter/Wendy” are scheduled for July 9, 10, & 11, 2021 on the Arts Council’s outdoor stage behind the Galax Public Library. Rehearsals will begin in May 2021 and if cast, performers will be asked to commit to attending all rehearsals as needed, along with helping create the costumes, scenery and props. A perusal script is available at the Arts Council in Galax.
