Twin Counties Holiday Extravaganza
SANTA TO MAKE A SPECIAL ‘EARLY’ VISIT TO GALAX
AT THE TWIN COUNTIES HOLIDAY EXTRAVAGANZA
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 15TH AT THE REX THEATRE
Santa Claus is coming to town! Because there are so many good boys and girls (of all ages) here in the Twin Counties, Mrs. Claus is letting Santa make a very special “early” visit on Thursday, December 15th at 7:00 pm at The Rex Theatre! During a surprise phone call to the Arts Council last month, Santa let slip that he was very impressed with all the kind and generous folks living in the Twin Counties and he would be honored to be a part of the Arts Council’s Twin Counties Holiday Extravaganza. Admission is only $5 person and everyone is encouraged to bring non-perishable/canned goods and new toys to be donated to the Rooftop of Virginia’s Food Pantry and the Angel Tree Project.
The evening is sure to delight your whole family! Performances include excerpts from “The Nutcracker” by the Conservatory of Dance & Theatre, the First United Methodist Church of Hillsville Choir, The Chestnut Creek Singers (Kathy Cole, Dwight Dunbar, Jeanne Franks, Steven Franks & Jane Dunbar – accompanist), “Back to Broadway” – A Highland Camerata Trio (Becky Helton, Heather McCall Hanks & Mary Elizabeth Whartenby – accompanist) and Dramatic Readings of Holiday Songs as interpreted by the famous comedy duo Scrooge & Marley. Santa will cap-off the evening with a reading of “Twas the Night Before Christmas” and will have time to take photos with audiences members afterwards.
Tickets for the Twin Counties Holiday Extravaganza are available on-line at www.artsculturalcouncil.org and at the Galax Visitor’s Center on East Grayson Street across from The Rex Theatre. The Galax Visitor’s Center is open Monday – Friday from 9am – 5pm and on Saturdays from 9-4pm. Tickets may also be purchased at the Arts Council office, located at 608 W. Stuart Drive (in the Old Vaughan Library). Please remember, cash & checks only when purchasing your tickets in person or at the box office that evening.
Tickets $5.00
