MISSION STATEMENT:  The members and board of The Arts Council believe that art is important to the life of a community and nourishes human development.  Its purpose is threefold:

1.      To promote communication, cooperation, and support of the arts in the Twin Counties.

2.      To serve as a liaison between the arts and businesses, government, and educational institutes.

3.      To provide educational services for and about the arts. 
The Arts Council carries out this mission through classes, lectures, and performances for adults and children.  Additionally, a Carmichael Scholarship is presented annually to graduating seniors from each of the local high schools who are pursuing further studies in the visual or performing arts.
