Don’t Let a Few Flurries Keep You at Home – We’ve got HOT Music at the 1908 Courthouse!

The Arts Council of the Twin Counties is thrilled to announce the 2017 Winter Concert Series dates.  Featuring musicians from the Radford University and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, the Winter Concert Series is a series of FREE Sunday afternoon concerts at the Historic 1908 Courthouse in Independence. The first of the 2017 Concerts will be on Sunday, January 29th at 3pm.  Donations are gratefully accepted at the door and the audience is welcome to stay after the performance for a reception with the artists.

The Sunday, January 29th concert will feature the Radford University Guitar Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Robert Trent.  The Guitar Ensemble has performed throughout the Mid-Atlantic states from Maryland to North Carolina and was selected by the Guitar Foundation of America to perform at its Washington, DC Conference – Strathmore Performing Arts Center. Performances have often involved singers and other instrumentalists and in past years the Radford University Guitar Ensemble has collaborated with students in the department of dance.
