Stories of the Stitch

The 6th annual Stories of the Stitch Quilt Show will take place during the Matthews Living History Farm Fall Festival, Saturday, September 11, 2010, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Registration begins at 11:00 a.m.  Ribbons will be awarded in several categories.

Quilt entries are now being accepted for this open-air exhibit.

Quilts may be traditional, historic, or contemporary.  Quilts should not be mass-produced, manufactured, or store-bought.  Ideally, they should be made by the entrant, family member, or close friend.

Participants are reminded that this is an outdoor event.  The Arts Council and Matthews Farm cannot be responsible for damage by mother nature or her creatures.  If rain becomes imminent during the show, the judging will conclude in the barn.

There is no limit on how many quilts a family may enter, as long as there is a person to hang each quilt before 12:00 and take down each quilt by 4:00.  Bring enough clothes pins to secure the quilt to the line.  You may also want to bring a lawn chair.
